So after visiting Kilve Beach, we came across this little museum called the Bakelite Museum. I love exploring, and so coming across little gems like this make it so worthwhile. It is a huge collection or you could say ‘hoard’, of Bakelite objects, such as phones, light switches, clocks, kitchenalia, record players, toys etc, not forgetting an old dentist chair complete with a set of teeth!!. Kids weren’t keen on going, but as soon as they entered the building, which is an old barn on the side of the owners house, its appeal became immediately apparent. Definitely worth a visit if you like ‘STUFF’ ! Theres also a quaint tea room equipped with vintage tea cups and an old gramophone player.

Just a few more to show you which are new. If you do like them or don’t please comment, as I need feedback!
So I’ve put up some finished paintings last time and here is how I did some of them, using layers and layers of colour.
This one is 100cm x 100 cm on canvas, but the one below is much bigger and sits over the mantle of a fireplace.

My daughter bought these home in a battered plastic see through A4 folder, threw it at me and said ” there’s some stuff I did at art club after school”! The joys of being a parent! You learn something everyday! After primary school, it seems to me, you know less and less of what they are doing, and any question to address this is met by one syllable words such as; good, ok, no and yes or get out of my room!!!
